RISE Ministries journey began 26 years ago when I felt the presence of The Spirit of God in my Insurance office one day. It was an overwhelming feeling. Compassion and forgiveness for others possessed my heart, especially for those I was doing business with. I used to engaged in discussions about life, tough times and the world's constant chaotic events with my clients. Many times, I prayed for them before they leave my office. It was the beginning of my calling:
1) To share the Gospel (verbal and written communication) with everyone.
2) To lead people to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. 3) To teach people to forgive without compromising the righteousness of God.
4) To communicate God's truth (His Word).
5) To continue to give to our community and others, especially in tough times.
6) To encourage wellness and advocate Healthy living to everyone.
7) To evangelize and teach the Word of God and minister to the Next Generation. The above needs took precedent in the business on that beautiful day in March. However, the people that I was particularly interested in had no personal relationship with Jesus Christ! Some looked depressed, frustrated, angry, and enraged. Others were stressed with the constant changes and cares of the world.
I started listening to people with a sympathetic heart, praying, and telling them about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and this has been going on since then. R.I.S.E. Ministries believe that through the ministry, we will be able to accomplish the work God has called us to do in His Glory. God is in charge. God is in control. We believe in Him, His Son Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit! In one of the Bible versions (NIV), it states that "Single-minded commitment to Jesus Christ identifies a disciple". The very purpose of life is to know Christ and to make Him known. All other achievements and accomplishments fade into insignificance by comparison. It is the highest of all privileges to have fellowship with Jesus Christ, to share Him with others, to bear suffering on His account, to reflect His character, and to honor His name. It is the greatest of all responsibilities to be committed to Jesus Christ. It ought to be the highest priority in life. It is an ever-increasing demand and never-ending pilgrimage. The result of such a relationship is to experience His complete sufficiency and absolute supply.
In the Apostle Paul's letter to the church in Philippi, he said "But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead." (Philippians 3:7-11).
When the Holy Spirit takes residence in your body, you will not be able to act as the world anymore. Your lifestyle will change forever! As long as you allow HIM to lead the way, He will lead you to victory and you will rise above your circumstances. He will make sure that you finish the work God has called you to do. Surely, therefore I am rejoicing, (even when it seemed as if a tragic illness I experienced, could have caused my instant physical death many years ago) because Paul said in Philippians 1:6 "Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will see it to completion until the day of Jesus Christ."
Jesus is Lord!"
